Working on Storytelling in class

During the 2nd year GoFor project, partners agreed on start working on storytelling in our classes. This will be the motto of second students' exchange mobility in Estonia, where they will be working in mixed nationality groups in order to write a story. In order to be successful, we considered essential to work on this previously in our classes, as well as creating a mail chain where each partner will develop 3 pages long section of the same story. This will be a model for a our project students.

During January, we've been dealing with stories' structure, grammar, vocabulary to get our students ready for the project task. Moreover, our students have participated in an itinerary of storytelling tasks: sequencing, free writing, whole-class story, grammar exercises, create your hero... timed. This helps our students to develop their language skills, their critical thinking, creativity and autonomy, as well as learning to work under pressure.

After the lesson, students were invited to leave their comments (the most you like and the least you like) in a panel.

Among others, we've been discussing which activities to include in our project manual "The Teaching of Living Abilities with Literacy: A Training Manual, Reading Strategies". We also assessed previous actions and future actions to be implemented at our high school, among others, The Project Book Fair. Etwinning Project Reading Circles

Our 4t ESO students have been involved in a new project entitled Reading Circles where , in circle groups , deal with an autonomous study of the graded reader Frankestein (Oxford Readers B1). By means of performing a study role (collector, word master, discussion leader, passage person, culture collector and summariser) , each student dives deep into the novel, prompts open questions and discuss with other his/her views. One session per week will be devoted to this task. And roles will be each week rotated.

To help slow learners, they are provided with a set of question cards to encourage to brainstorm questions and possible answers according to their role assigned.

Teachers' Meeting

Today we've met to discuss and agree to implementing an Etwinning project at school which is linked to our Erasmus + project "GoFor". This project, which is students-oriented and competence-based , will be useful for our 4t ESO students to improve their linguistic competences and enrich their European conciousness. Moreover, our aim is to give visibility to the projects and other lively activities we implement in our language lessons here, as well as getting to know other countries' methodologies, activities and students' projects by implementing this collaborative project.

Thanks a lot for your effort, dear workmates!

Workshop Coordinators of a recently approved Erasmus + project

During the 28th and 29th September, we've spent two days in Tenerife where we attended the workshop organised by SEPIE (our National Agency) to give us feedback and information on how to deal with an Erasmus + project. In the workshop, we learned about coordinators' tasks, partners' tasks, dissemination and impact measure and ideas, outcomes and requirements by our NA. It was indeed a profitable experience. #ErasmusPlusSepie #ErasmusplusCat #Goforliteracy
